An ideal place to stop for tea, a snack, coffee and, why not, champagne?

A tranquil stopping place…

Jean-Luc and Jean-Paul, your convivial hosts, offer you the charming decoration of the Foret so that you can relax to your heart’s content.

The Foret is a charming small hotel.  Arriving from Bergerac it is situated at the entrance to the English bastide of Lalinde.  A picturesque village on the bank of the river, Lalinde is described as the entrance to the valley of the Dordogne; it is on the way to the medieval towns of Sarlat, Roque-Gageac and Domme, the acropolis of Périgord.  To the east the valley of the Dordogne opens up to the thousands of castles and manor houses which make Périgord so charming, whilst further to the north, the Vezère valley leads us to prestigious sites and the prehistoric grottos of Montignac Lascaux, La Madeleine, Le Grand  Roc… and towards Les Ezyies, the world’s prehistory capital.  To the west, the vineyards of the Bergerac and Bordeaux regions are open to you.

The Foret tea room welcomes you all year long.  You will find there a selection of teas and coffees of different origins as well as a choice of home-made pastries, cakes, and ice-creams.  Substantial breakfasts are served.  In good weather they can be served on our lovely terrace which is shaded by hundred year old plane trees.
